Unscripted Vintage

Thank you to the  DT @ Unsctipted Sketches for selecting my creation amonst the top 3!  in this challenge.  Doing a little happy dance!

Hello blog friends, I've put together an entry for the Unscripted Sketches challenge # 121 as I found it to be quite interesting.

I've used 6 punches to put the label together, it just sort of grew and grew as I was playing....LOL

I've also been playing around lately with some collage of images, some embossed and others just stamped, Here's what I ended up with for this challenge,  I've used the colours from a challenge at the Colour Throwdown....but in my usual style.....I've missed the deadline...LOL

This is supposed to be Perfect Plum, but somehow my camera doesn't think so.  I've also used Crumb Cake and So Saffron.

Striking birthday wishes

2nd post for the day!  I fell in love with this sketch when I saw it at the Card Patterns Sketch blog.  Found the colour combo at Our Creative Corner Colour Challenge and here's what I came up with...

Card Patterns Sketch - Sketch Challenge # 130

Our Creative Corner ~ Neutrals with a POP of Red

Sparkle

Hello blogging friends, I hope your weekend is going well and you have found time to do some crafting.  I managed to squeeze in a little bit and came up with this one.  But...I have to ask, have you ever had one of THOSE days where you timing couldn't be worse?  That's today for me!

I'm using up scraps of DSP, this one is Lap of Luxury which is about to retire.  All pretty pinks and purples with a lovely rich cream.  I actually got the sketch from Unscripted Sketches, but in my usual fashion, I'm running late and the collection has closed!  *sigh*

I was also entereing this one over at Jules blog Always with a Heart, she runs a weekly snippet challenge, where you're supposed to reduce that pile of left over bits and pieces of paper by using them up in cards....well I've missed that one by 2 hours!...Stop Press!   Week 34 is up, and while this was posted yesterday...I'm sure Jules won't mind my sneaking it into her new snippet week.

I think I'm still in time for Stampin' Royalty challenge which is to use Bling, Glitter and Sparkle.

It's Friday again, time for another Mashup!

Hello there, welcome to another Friday Mashup.  This week Lesley brings us a fabulous combo of a Sketch and 'dry embossing' technique.  This one is so easy to Mashup together.

The sketch spoke clean and simple so I went with the Maiden Hair fern from Growing Green set and then did a bit of playing around with the sentiment, the scallop circle stamped image is actually from Perfect Punches and is a Christmas message, but layered with circles and a different sentiment, it's no longer just for Christmas!

I also used the Colour Coach for selecting my colours this week as I thought it best to use Garden Green, this is one of the neglected greens in the range for me, I like it but it's a very strong shade so I used watercolouring technique over the embossed image to tone it down a bit.  I mixed it with More Mustard and Chocolate Chip and of course Whisper White.

If you haven't seen the rest of the DT cards for this week yet, pop on over to the Friday Mashup site and check them out!  Oh and don't forget to submit your idea for our Fan Favourite challenge.  This is the last week!

Cheers,

Oh My

I was blog surfing and had a little look see at what my lovely blog friend Andrea had been up to lately,  Oh MY is all I can say.....her blog led me to the Amazing Grace's blog and this amazingly talented lady has some incredible tutorials available for free.  Such a generous spirit to not ask for one single cent, Grace shares her talent free of charge and is just like her name.

I used her tutorial to create this card,  The white scalloped background is made using only a corner punch.  You really have to try this it's such fun, as this was the very first one I made, it's just slightly wonky!  I'm off to practice!  In the meantime, this card is for two challenges.

Monique, if you're reading this....check it out girlfriend....I've used Lucky Limeade!!!
Opps sorry I've just realised my sentiment is slightly wonky as well.....*sigh* that's what you get when you're rushing to finish a card and cook diner at the same time!

Soft pastels

How incredibly pretty are these colours together?  Baja Breeze, Wisteria Wonder and Pink Pirouette.  Although the Baja Breeze has come up quite green looking in the photo.  These pretty colours are the challenge combo over at Scrapmasters Paradise this week and I love them.  I"ve combined them with the sketch from Stampin' Royalty .

I've used the new hostess set Precious Butterflies, although I've also used the leaf flourish from Vintage Vogue on the Baja Breeze card.  I stamped the circle of butterflies after colouring them with markers then I cut the smallest butterfly from the Beautiful Wings Sizzlit and popped them on top of the stamped ones.  I love the whole look of it.

I've inked up some taffeta ribbon and some narrow satin ribbon from my stash with the three colours and tied a little bunch of them together for an artsy bow.

This card is for the following challenges...

Sweet as a Button Friday Mashup # 20

Hello all, this week at the Friday Mashup, Holly brings us an interesting challenge
  1. Create a project using Buttons .
  2. Create a project featuring "Cupcakes".
  3. or "Mash it Up!" and create a project with Cupcakes & Buttons!
Check out the great projects from the Design Team below, you may notice that we added in some extra touches... Paper Piercing & Paper Piecing so if your really up for a challenge add one of those techniques into your project as well.

And don't forget about our next "Fan Favorite" Challenge. We can't wait to see what your ideas are!

I'm afraid that I don't have one single cupcake stamp or punch, they really don't do anything for me as I really don't do cutsey at all.  So I've chickened out of the cupcake part of the challenge and gone for Buttons!

I've gone with Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral and Island Indigo, using Circle Circus and the new Delicate Doilies.  I've sponged ink on ribbons to match the colours.

Hope you're inspired and head on over to the Friday Mashup challenge and check out what the other DT girls have done.

Cheers,

Miss Three.... take two

Of course the family requests for a card for Miss Three would have to arrive at the last minute....My daughter is just going to have to select from existing stock for her neice.  Anyway this little fairy is for me to give Miss Three, I had to make it quite different from the Pink Tilda card so went with a purple fairy and butterflies rather than roses as the embellishments.

I'm quite pleased with the end result.  The sentiment will go inside along with my birthday wishes.

As I've used spica pens again there are highlights on the image flowers as well as the wings, dress and hair. The butterflies have clear spica all over the lighter purple and the embellishment flowers have clear spica highlights all very difficult to see in the photo so you'll just have to take my word for it!

Hmm just looking at her here and thinking that perhaps there is little too much purple.....I wonder.....is that possible?   LOL

I'm going to throw this one into the Mad 4 Markers challenge and the Make it Monday Linky Party.

If you like this card, you can vote for it at Mad 4 Markers!

Cheers.

Miss Three

I can safely post this card as Miss Three whose birthday it is on Wednesday, doesn't yet have internet access, I expect she will master that one when she turns 5!

This card has been made for my little cherub who just loves pink with purple her next favourite colour, can't half tell she's related to me!

I've used spica pens all over this card, the confetti, the present and hat, the dress and shoes and the sand has specs of gold and the rocks have sand speckled all over them, looks fabulous under a light but unfortunately, it wasn't picked up in this shot.

I'm entering this in the Mad For Markers challenge as it was to use spica pens on your project.  I've used so much that I think it might qualify!

I'll throw it into the Make it Monday linky party as well just for fun.

oohhh My turn again!

Hello to all our lovely Friday Mashup regulars and new players alike. Welcome along to Challenge #19 it's Kasey here with what I think is another fabulous challenge for you with plenty of scope to get your creative juices flowing...it's Butterflies and Bling!  Mashed up with an open colour combo where you get to choose the third colour to go with Marina Mist and Perfect Plum, and ONE other colour of your choice.... plus you also get to choose ONE neutral!

I know that Lisa bought you glitter last week so I hope you're not all glittered out!  I LOVE Bling! it can give you so many options.....Rhinestones, Pearls, Sparkles, Glitter, Metallic embellishments or embossing, Metallic inks, Sparkly ribbons and braid trims or cords  Oh the list is endless and I know you're going to have such fun creating with this challenge you'll want to enter twice!

So, here's the "Mash Up!" challenge:
1. Create a project with "Butterflies and Bling".
2. Create a project using "Marina Mist, Perfect Plum and your Choice of ONE other color and ONE Neutral".
3. Or "Mash it Up!" and create a project that using "Butterflies, Bling and the Color Combo"!

I have just moved house (hopefully for the last time as I bought it) I'm still sorting out my craft space but let me say that I'm clearing down the desk for this challenge....I love creating with all this girly stuff, I'm very fortunate to have a granddaughter to scrap for!

I can't wait to see your creative projects for this challenge and it will be interesting to see what colour combinations you all come up with, I hope I haven't made it too hard by giving you all this choice!

Check out the Design Team creations over at the Friday Mashup Challenge Blog for some inspiration to get you started!

I couldn't stop once I got started on this challenge and I ended up making THREE cards!

This one used Basic Gray as the card base and I stamped the scroll from Elements of Style to make my background paper then cut it to size and sponged the edges in Perfect Plum and matted it on Marina Mist.  The sentiment comes from Just Believe set and is using a layered decorative lable punch.  Then using the sizzlits die to cut my butterflies. add a bow and a ribbon and bow and of course the bling and it's done!

I decided to add Rose Red and Very Vanilla to the mix with this card which is a case of a card I made a while ago.  I've used a different embossing folder and of course the whole thing is sprayed with champagne shimmer mist, I'm so glad that isn't retiring I'd be lost without it!  I love the sentiment from Style Beautiful, such a lovely script.

Then I decided I needed to be more dramatic!  so I came up with this one, using my favourite technique Shaving Cream, I cut the butterflies out with the Beautiful Wings die and decided to just put them on the black card along with a sentiment and bling.  My attempt at CAS....LOL yeah right with all that bling makes it so CAS.

The photo below is a bit washed out, overcast day here today.  So I took the closeup one above to show you a bit more of the detail.  I love the effects of the shaving cream technique.

Hope this inspires you to create and enter the Friday Mashup challenge this week....I'd love to set a new record for the number of entries!

Another challenge

I've just got my first order from the new 2011/12 Ideas Book & Catalogue pre order and I got the new in colours kit, I'm really happy to see a soft purple in Wisteria Wonder and I love the teal Island Indigo, but really!  Indigo is a BLUE/PURPLE not a blue/green.  Pool Party is very close to Soft Sky from a while back, just a tad darker.

I also think Calypso Coral is so close to Tangerine Tango you could substitue and no one would know the difference!  I gotta ask, do we really need another yellow based green especially when we have Old Olive and Kiwi Kiss.  One of these days I might get surprised and there will be no murky yellow/greens in an in colour collection! (sorry Monique)  OK I'll get off my soapbox now!  LOL

Anyway here is my card for the Colour Lab challenge using Pool Party, Not Quite Navy and So Saffron.
Colour Lab ~ Colour combo # 52

Vintage Sympathy

This was my interpretation of the colour challenge at Scrapmasters Paradise Colour Combo Challenge this week,  The colours were Island Indigo What the?!?,  Soft Suede and Melon Mambo. ((What on earth was SU thinking?!?  naming a teal Indigo when we all know Indigo is a deep blue/purple!  Don't get me wrong I LOVE this colour, the name isn't right though. Anyone else agree on that one?))

I've added a neutral Very Vanilla and gone vintage with Palour Prints background stamp and striped paper to create an effect reminiscent of a drawing room centuries ago then added my art work to the wall...LOL ... OK it's not quite a master piece but I like the way it turned out with soft water colouring for the Melon Mambo and Island Indigo.

Purple challenge

Woo Hoo!  Runner up at Picture Perfect Creations.  Thanks girls for choosing my card as one of your runner up choices.

*********************************************************
I finally found some time to put towards creating for a couple of challenges.  Picture Perfect Creations have a Purple and vanilla challenge and I was so there!  Then this sketch at Card Patterns just inspired me.

You can just see the glitter on these flowers, I mix a little bit of dazzling diamonds with my clear embossing powder then stamp in versamark then directly into the ink pad and I have whatever colour embossing I want.

True Love sparkles and shines

Welcome along to another wonderful Friday Mashup challenge!  This week Lisa brings us Glitter, who doesn't love glitter?  Mash it up with an Anniversary theme and you have a fabulous challenge to really go wild over.  Don't you just love that picture Holly found to do the graphic for this week.  Ain't LOVE Grand!

The challenge is to...

1. Create a project using "Glitter".
2. Create a project for an "Anniversary" .
3. Or "Mash it Up!" and create an "Anniversary project using Glitter"

Here is my inspiration card for you, I've gone a bit girly with the glittered flowers.  I've used Dazzling Diamonds, Champagne Simmer Paint and glittering Rhinestones.....I stopped there cause I thought any more and I'd overdo it!

I love the way this photo shows up the glitter, I've used the sizzix adhesive sheets and punched out the shape then added it to the sponged punched lable and then sprinkled glitter on it.  Stunning result.  I then layered the second label with dimensionals to give so height and added a couple of rhinestones,  LOVE IT!  You can also see the shimmer paint which was sponged over the raised part of the embossed background.

And finally here is the finished card.  THANK YOU Lisa for giving us this fabulous challenge this week!

Hop on over to the Friday Mashup Challenge blog to see what the other ladies have created for your inspiration this week.  My guess is that there will be heaps of entires this week, what a brilliant challenge to join us on.

Cheers,
