My Creative Space

Finally got around to updating my Creative Space page with pics of the room I've set my stash up in.

Starting at the left as you walk in the door.  I have this large three door cupboard set into a recess, it has louvered doors so I've put swimwear elastic through and I use that to hold some of my favourite cards on display, I swap this around now and then.

As this room is a very small single bedroom, there isn't a lot of space, still it IS a whole room to myself!

This wall is next to the alcove where the last shot ends, this is my SU card stock storage, I use suspension files and all my smaller bits go back into the same folder so I can easily find the little pieces rather than cut into a new sheet.  I have storage for my inks on the other cupboard.

Then there is the creative hub of the room, my desk, Note how clean it is!!!  LOL it doesn't stay this clean for long.  Those stamp sets are about to see ink for the first time, I decided not to put them away until I'd made some cards with each and every one of them.  I have this fabulous magnifying lamp that is awesome when I need to colour fine images or do some fussy cutting.  The large plastic dish is what I use for when I use glimmer sprays or shimmer mist sprays, catches the overflow and is easy to clean, plus if I'm feeling artsy I'll mop up the excess on cardstock and see what happens!

Now this is my stash of stamps, I have DVD cases with a lot of unmounted stamps in them as well as this storing my ribbons, colouring mediums like crayons, chalks, reinkers etc.

My cutting island is in the forefront and shows my UFO box, when I dry emboss and trim, all the usable trimmings go into the box, then when I want a little something I search that first, I also put in there lots of other things in the box.  Things that I start on and find that 'it's just not working for me' end up here, I'm sure you have times like that, a few weeks later I'll be inspired to work with something out of that box and I don't end up wasting things.

I have my dear friend Monique to thank for this little marvel of an idea, it's a shoe rack and believe it or not it cost me a whole $4.50 (on sale) and it is amazing for holding all the punches that don't fit nicely on my homemade rack (next pic).  It is sitting on two trolley stands that I use to hold my A4 patterned papers and other brands cardstock.

This is the punch rack I made myself, I needed something portable as I was renting at the time.  Since getting the shoe rack, it has eased the pressure a bit on this rack and I've put my large cutting dies up on top now.  This rack sits on top of some large craft drawers which hold my 12 x 12 papers and chipboard etc.

Full circle now, this is my embossing folders, Nesties and other cutting dies in the CD wallet and cutting plates etc all the bigshot stuff close at hand for the island cutting station.

Well that's the tour of my creative space, hope you gather some ideas for storing your stash!

Cheers,
