Friday Mashup

I've been a little bit MIA lately, sorry for not responding to your comments, I will try to get it done this weekend.  I've scheduled all my posts for this week well ahead of time.

It's getting close to the end of my term on the design team here at the Friday Mashup.  Just a few more to go.  Lisa brings us this week's challenge.  It is a solemn one.  I don't really have any patriotic stamps so went with the colour combo.

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project that's "Patriotic or for Remembrance".
  2. Or Make a project with the colors " Whisper White, Night of Navy, Poppy Parade & daffodil Delight."
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Remembrance or Patriotic project using the colors above."
  4. Donate your card to a Wounded Solider or that Special Service Member in your Life!
* If you would like to Donate a Card to a Wounded Service Member you can send your cards to Holly. The Red Cross at the Walter Reed National Medical Center will accept the cards and distribute them to Wounded Service Members throughout the hospital. Please send your cards to Holly Endress P.O. Box 18 Arnold, MD 21012 no later then May 31st. She will be hand delivering them to the Red Cross.

I stamped the SU Stipple Rose onto Night of Navy and embossed it in black.  I then spent a few days giving it the bleach treatment!, intrestingly though after bleaching out the roses and leaves, when I tried to colour them, the colour kept bleaching out.  LOL I ended up with this lovely mottled colour, I liked it so much I thought you might too.  I have deliberately left the sentiment off this one, I think it would work for a thank you or a sympathy card.

Check out the gorgeous projects from the design team.  I hope you're inspired to create and also send a card or two for donation.

Cheers,

Last Friday Mashup before Christmas!

Hi all, Lisa brings us this fabulous sketch the Friday Mashup this week along with a mashup of Watercolouring.  Now I love watercolouring, I'm just not so sure it loves me!  I really need to do some serious practice to so I've kept this card simple.

I love this stipple rose, long retired SU stamp.  I stamped and embossed the image in black then bleached out the image.  I came up a soft rich cream colour on the Bravo Burgundy.  I then added Always Artichoke to the leaves and Pretty in Pink lightly to the roses.

Have a very Merry Christmas.

Check the Friday Mashup blog for inspiration from the other DT girls and I hope you get a moment spare to play along with us.

Such a fabulous challenge!

Hello all, what a great Friday Mashup challenge Lisa brings us today. I LOVE it.  Heat embossing and saying Thanks.  Easy peasy combo that one.  So get to it!!!

  1. Make a project featuring "Heat Embossing".
  2. Or Make a "Thank You (Grateful)" project.
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Thank You Project using Heat Embossing".
I have always wanted to try the bleaching technique, now this involves heat embossing so it was the one I chose to do my card.  The Stipple Rose was inked with versamark then I tapped the stamp into the black inkpad and stamped it onto River Rock then embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I filled one of my aqua paint pens with bleach and wrote bleach all over it so I don't get it mixed up with the water ones!  then I painted bleach inside the embossing.  I LOVE the effect, I've not watercoloured or added any ink to this as the colour came out beautifully with just bleaching the River Rock.

As I'm not the best photographer, I thought I'd add a close up of the main rose so you can see the detail.  This seems to have turned the background blue! but in reality it is River Rock, always artichoke on the leaves and just plain old household bleach on the roses.

Check out the the fabulous DT inspiration cards and join in!
