Sweet as a Button Friday Mashup # 20

Hello all, this week at the Friday Mashup, Holly brings us an interesting challenge
  1. Create a project using Buttons .
  2. Create a project featuring "Cupcakes".
  3. or "Mash it Up!" and create a project with Cupcakes & Buttons!
Check out the great projects from the Design Team below, you may notice that we added in some extra touches... Paper Piercing & Paper Piecing so if your really up for a challenge add one of those techniques into your project as well.

And don't forget about our next "Fan Favorite" Challenge. We can't wait to see what your ideas are!

I'm afraid that I don't have one single cupcake stamp or punch, they really don't do anything for me as I really don't do cutsey at all.  So I've chickened out of the cupcake part of the challenge and gone for Buttons!

I've gone with Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral and Island Indigo, using Circle Circus and the new Delicate Doilies.  I've sponged ink on ribbons to match the colours.

Hope you're inspired and head on over to the Friday Mashup challenge and check out what the other DT girls have done.

Cheers,

Kasey ~ in Oz

  1. No cupcakes in your stamping stash? We have to fix that Kasey.. everyone needs at least one Cupcake! Your card is very pretty, I really like those colors together. And that Dollie set with Circle Circus who would thought those would work so well together. Great idea to color the ribbons.

  3. LOVE these colors! I, too, shy away from the cupcake craze, so I'd probably do just buttons, too.

This color combo is actually on my "saw it on someone's shirt this week" list to try, so maybe I'll play! :)

  7. Well, you may have chickened out of the cupcake part of the challenge, but I'd say that the background stamps look very much like the tops of cupcakes! All pretty patterns and sprinkles and icing swirls - I reckon you could call this "Kasey's Impressionist Cupcakes"!!! Hugs, Bron xxx

  8. Thank you all for your lovely comments. No Holly I am NOT adding cupcake stamps to my stash! LOL thanks Bron for the impressionistic thing, that's a maybe though.

I'm still not sold on the whole cupcake craze thing, it's soooo NOT me! That doesn't mean I can't/don't appreciate someone else's cupcake creation. Just don't expect me to create with them.

  9. I like how you have all the ribbon and the button Kasey.

Your attitude towards the 'cupcake craze' is how I feel about very girly cards. I cant stand them and usually dont want anything to do with them!
