It's getting close to the end of my term on the design team here at the Friday Mashup. Just a few more to go. Lisa brings us this week's challenge. It is a solemn one. I don't really have any patriotic stamps so went with the colour combo.
So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
- Make a project that's "Patriotic or for Remembrance".
- Or Make a project with the colors " Whisper White, Night of Navy, Poppy Parade & daffodil Delight."
- Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Remembrance or Patriotic project using the colors above."
- Donate your card to a Wounded Solider or that Special Service Member in your Life!
I stamped the SU Stipple Rose onto Night of Navy and embossed it in black. I then spent a few days giving it the bleach treatment!, intrestingly though after bleaching out the roses and leaves, when I tried to colour them, the colour kept bleaching out. LOL I ended up with this lovely mottled colour, I liked it so much I thought you might too. I have deliberately left the sentiment off this one, I think it would work for a thank you or a sympathy card.
Check out the gorgeous projects from the design team. I hope you're inspired to create and also send a card or two for donation.
Cheers,

Hi Kasey
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant finished look and how interesting that the bleach kept on bleaching!!!
It does make for a beautiful image and finished card.
Hope all is good with you.
Love Jules xx
Hi Jules, thanks for your comment, yes I was so surprised that the colour kept disappearing out of the petals! But yes it did actually turn out to be one of those happy accidents that I have quite often in my crafting.
DeleteThis is just stunning Kasey. Beautiful flowers and the colours are so elegant. Hope you are doing well :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Alyce, much improved, I have a relatively quiet week then two out of town trips in one week!
DeleteBeautiful rose card and gorgeous ribbon!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Trish, thanks for stopping in to leave your lovely comment.
DeleteBeautiful card Kasey, very elegant.
ReplyDeleteWedgie xxx
Hello Wedgie, thanks mate!
DeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous! This is one of my favorite floral images, and the bleaching/coloring looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteHI Kim, yes one of my favourites too, it lends itself beautifully to bleaching and watercolouring, not necessarily together though! Thanks for stopping in to leave your comment.
DeleteLove how the flowers turned out Kasey, they look great! You did a great job with the color portion of the challenge!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa, the yellow component had me stumped for a while, not one I would have added to the mix on my own! Glad you challenged me to mix it up a bit.
DeleteGorgeous card Kasey well done Hugs Elaine
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine, thanks for your lovely comment.
DeleteAll the bleaching paid off.. This came out great. The results you got with the bleaching is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHi Holly, it took simply days to add layers of bleach to get the navy out of the card! I wanted it as light as possible so that the red and yellow would show. Worth the effort.
DeleteThanks for your lovely comments.
Such a gorgeous flower, Kasey. The bleaching gave it such a cool effect! I must try this...
ReplyDeleteThanks Tara, I am a recent bleaching convert so yes, you must try it!
DeleteYour roses came out lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heidi
DeleteI've never been brave enough to try bleaching, but wow! What a neat effect it gives. I love those gorgeous flowers.
