Below is an excerpt from the Australian War Memorial site explaining very briefly what ANZAC day is all about.
Wednesday 25 April 2012
ANZAC Day goes beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. It is the day we remember all Australians who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. The spirit of ANZAC, with its human qualities of courage, mateship, and sacrifice, continues to have meaning and relevance for our sense of national identity. On ANZAC day, ceremonies are held in towns and cities across the nation to acknowledge the service of our veterans.Lest we Forget...
When I saw that La La Land stamps had a Little Aussie Digger Luka, I just had to have it, I recently won a La La Land stamp from Mad for Markers blog hop and selected this I hope I've done him justice although I'm not so sure about that disruptive pattern on his uniform. (pity he's wearing an American hat it would have been so much better had he had the famous slouch hat on!)
This fits in so well for the Boys Dig It! challenge at the 4 Crafty Chicks this week. This is my second last post as a guest designer for their challenge, hope to see you joining in.
I'm also linking this card up to Make it Monday ~ Linky party
