Don't you just love crafting with images of Butterflies, Dragonflies, Fairies, Angels, Dragons, Birds and I'm sure you could add a few more creatures with wings. The challenge this fortnight at Southern Girls Challenges is Things with Wings! I hope you have as much fun creating your cards for the challenge this week as I did.
I've used a fabulous image from Delicious Doodles, created by the very talented Teri, called 'Endless Love' This was a joy to colour, Stunning art work and I just love the image. Teri's work is gorgeous and she has some amazingly different images too if you're looking for something a little darker!
See that little strip of marbled paper? I made that using the shaving cream technique. The colours were all reflected in the image so it was perfect for this card. I've also used some of my amazing Wild Orchid flowers that I just love and one of the metal filigree corners, a scallop border and some pearls. Lots and lots of spica pen to make this shimmer and sparkle.
Here is a close up of the gorgeous image showing lots of spica pen giving it a glimmer that is amazing.
I also used the little dots to create a background surrounding the image, it seemed to fit this quite well. I absolutely loved colouring this image.
I'm also entering this into the Make it Monday Linky Party
WOW! Kasey this is just beyond stunning! I absolutely love this image...I really want to colour it now! You have done a fantastic job - love all of the bling :) Are you coming down for the show on the weekend? :D
ReplyDeleteLOL Alyce, you sound just like me when I discover a stamp I just love! Thanks, I will be doing this one again in richer colours, this time it just called out for soft tones. Sorry, I won't be able to make it for the Craft show in Brisbane and the horrific thing is I think I'll be away in Sydney and Canberra for the Townsville one too! LOL Just my luck!
DeleteKasey, Absolutely beautiful piece and your coloring is wonderful.

Hi Avril, thanks for the invite, but your challenge site says no Digi stamps allowed. This is a digital image which I printed and then coloured with copics. I'm glad you like it but it isn't suitable for your challenge. Glad you like my little shoes too.
DeleteThis is such a beautiful card kasey. I have not heard of a spica pen before,it has worked beautifully on your card. The eye on the horse stands out so well. The image is magical and your card is so elegant.
ReplyDeleteThank you for leaving such lovely comments on my card and also to MIM for giving us the chance to make new aquaintences.
Shirley
Shirley, you NEED to get some spicas! The shimmer from them is so amazing and they are designed to work with Copics. Thanks for your visit and your lovely comments.

You are most welcome Jules. Thank you for the inspiration on that Stampendous dragonfly, I had seen it used on one of your cards then I spotted the stamp so I bought it! Thanks for taking time to have a look around and leaving me a comment.
DeleteThank you for your comment and I am looking and your card here is amazing! Shaving cream technique?? How do you do this?? I went to MIM and looked at your cards, this being the first:), and I love it!! I love the image and how you put everything together. Just beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteBrigit, not sure if you will see this message. Shaving cream technique is really easy, slightly messy but gives the most amazing results. Check out www.splitcoaststampers.com resources section. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/shaving_cream1/
DeleteYou will learn some amazing techniques!
OMG!! How spectacular this is.
ReplyDeleteHugs Nataliya
Thank you Nataliya. I'm sure you will get there with colouring this image. I liked your first attempt.
