Not so Shabby

I'd say it's more Vintage than Shabby with these deep browns, what do you think?

Hello everyone, through the miracle of modern technology, (hopefully) this post is going live while I'm about 3000klms away from my computer!  I'm in Sydney for a few days so I'm apologising if you're missing my comments.  I will try to catch up when I get back, but I'm only home for a day! then I'm off again.  Why do things tend to happen all at once?

On to my post, This week Whimsy Inspirations challenges brings you a Shabby Chic challenge. I've used two of the fabulous StampArt digi's here, Blooming Border 2 which I used twice to create this lovely border for the Inspirational Cross both available at Whimsy Stamps store.

I fussy cut the outside edge to layer it on the deep brown layer.  All coloured with Copics and very few colours used.
The flowers are a mix of E31, E33, E35 & E37 with some chocolate spica and adhesive pearls.  The cross is E31 with smooch on the border the tulips are G43 & G46 for the leaves and Y15, 17 & 19.

I found some cork sheets really cheap (they are quite thin) and I've had the Weathered Clock die for ages, this is the first time I've used it...LOL not that you can see much of it.  I've also used some of the fabulous corner embellishments I got from Wild Orchid Crafts and some lace and tuelle.  Lots of layers and Vintage Photo distress ink.

I hope you're inspired to join us this week and show us your Shabby Chic creations.

Cheers,
Kasey ~ in Oz

    1. Hi Alyce, came home with a horrible head cold and sore throat! Not happy, but I suppose it's that time of year for the bugs to be out and about.

      Thanks for your lovely comments.

    2. Oh that's dreadful Kasey :( I bet it was cold down there! It has been quite chilly here even...meant to be 6 degrees on sunday! I just thought I would let you know too that for some reason it doesn't actually send your replies out! I just came to this post to see if I had commented and saw your reply but I have not been receiving them in my email :( And I do have the reply thingy turned on in the blogger so it should work! Not sure what to do about that...

  4. Think I have to agree with you on that one Kasey, saying that someone else might see it different but as vintage goes I just love it. Love all the inking, the cork clock, great idea and love those corners. Hope your having a great time in Sydney. Carolxx

    1. Thanks Carol, I love your visits and honest comments. Not a lot of time to do much as I was at a training seminar for two days. I did manage to pick up a cold though!
