PLG Inspiration Photo #29

Welcome to a new inspiration photo challenge with the Paper Lovin' Gals.

 These tulips are just so lovely such a pretty coral colour.  The inspiration for me was flowers and the gorgeous colour and colour I did!  I coloured this new digi Tutu Sweet from Meljens Designs.  She's totally sweet.

This little sweetie is also going into the following challenges.

Copic Oz has a fabulous flowers challenge this month, I've already got one card in, but had to post this one as well.

Fussy and Fancy have asked for Dies and Punches in their current challenge, so I cut two frames from Calypso Coral SU card using my Spellbinders labels 24 Nesties and linked them together to create this flower like frame for Tutu Sweet.

Make It Monday is a fabulous challenge site that has a Linky Party each week. Anything goes, so I like to play along.  The challenge here is to comment on other entries for the chance to win a prize!  This is a fabulous way to visit other blogs and see some amazing creative work.

Sweet Flying Tilda

I was touring around the blog-o-sphere and came across the Copic Marker Europe site.  Oh MY!  talk about some amazing work posted there, I took an extended tour of the blog and looked into some of the tutorials there as well. A M A Z I N G stuff.

I was particularly taken with the tutorial about Sepia colouring so decided to try it on my little Flying Tilda. It's been ages since I've posted a Tilda card.  I also did the little dots background that I've seen being used lately, both new techniques that I'm pretty happy with.

I used the Sketch from Sketch Saturdays and colours from CR84FN and am so happy with the combination that this has created.

Copics used.

Hair, dress, wings and shoes:  E40. E42, E43, E44 Sand spica
Skin: E50, E51, E53 & E93  BV000 for shadows (still perfecting this technique!)
Background:  R81, R83 & R84, blossom spica

Entering this little cutie into the following challenges.

Sketch Saturdays - Sketch
CR84FN - Colours - Medium Pink, Tan and Cream
Wags n' Whiskers Stamps - Anything Goes
Make it Monday - Linky Party
Copic Oz - Flowers

Hope you have a great day.

Moonglow Sweet Pea

Hello blog friends, I hope your week has started out just fine and dandy!  When someone becomes a follower of mine, I like to go and look at their blogs and source some inspiration, most of the time I also become a follower of their blogs too.

My latest follower Chana from CARD-D-OLOGY has a Family and Friends challenge going so I thought I'd just have a go at it.  The colours to mix are Burnt Orange, Aqua and Green.  This is a close as I can get with the colours I had in my copic collection.

Last time I coloured this beauty from Sweet Pea stamps, she was all in purple and red so this time it's nice and soft with the Green dress and Aqua on her wings with a little bit of burnt orange to give it all a lift.

The wings have a coat of Smooch Illuminate on them and the moon is painted with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint from Stampin' Up!  The photo doesn't really show the difference between the colours of shimmer properly, the moon is a soft champagne and the wings are very white.

I'm also going to link her up to the Copic Oz challenge as my third entry as I so want to win the 12 new copic colours!

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers,

Sweetpea Fairy

Just backlinking this one to Make It Monday.  Thought she deserved a second viewing!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi all, I spent a few hours in my craft studio last night colouring and after one or three disgarded images, this one is the one that finally made it to a card front!
I love how she turned out even though this is the first time I've coloured black hair.  I love the softness of her dress and wings.  Colours I wouldn't normally reach for as a combination, but they work on this card.
And here is the full card, I've used up some retired SU papers that had just the right greens in them and some Coredinations card stock for the blue.  I have just picked up TIm Holtz Tattered Pinecone die and this is the leaves from it.  They are just right for this image.  I've added a few flowers that I had in my stash, sorry don't know the brand.
 I was surfing around from the Copic Oz site and followed a link to Mandi-Lee's site Copic Me and then across to Kate Palmer at Sparkletart where I saw a tutorial for colouring backgrounds.  I didn't have the B0000 that she used so I just went with C1 and C3 and well it just seemed to happen I ended up with this lovely mottled shading.
Talk about being totally in awe of the artistic talent, two amazingly talented ladies, needless to say, I spent ages surfing around and have bookmarked both sites as the inspiration and tutorials are fabulous.
 Copic markers used to colour this beauty are...
Background - C1 & C3
Hair - C1, C3, C5, C7 & 100
Wings - V91, V93 & V95.  BG93.  B21 & BV20.  Sand Spica pen
Dress - W1, W3 & W5
Corselette and Gloves - BG93 & BG96 (the copic challenge colours)
Dress trim, Mask and Belt - B21 & BV20
Flowers - Y15 & YR23
Sand Spica pen trims
And yes you guessed it, I can't resist a second entry into the Copic Oz competition, who would pass up the opportunity to win 12 copic markers?!?  I can't find any rules to say one entry only...LOL
I'd love to hear what you think of this beauty, so feel free to leave a comment, I love reading them.
Marci AND Luka
Wow, Copic Oz is giving away 12 new copic markers in a challenge competition.  I'm entering this set of cards into the draw.  I love how these turned out.  I picked up Lil' Rocker Luka as he looks so much like my grandson Blake who has an amazing talent playing his deep red electric guitar, so this little fella was created with Blake in mind.
All we had to do was use ONE of the colours used in the sample image on the site.  I chose R46.
Here are some close ups pics of these two little darlings.  I just love them to pieces!
I am still very much at the beginning in using copics.  These two cards make it number 19 and 20 as far as my copic creations go and I've so much to learn.
I've done a beginners course and I would highly recommend that to anyone thinking of starting out with Copic Markers.
Youtube and Blogland can provide you with an amazing amount of tutorials and information, nothing quite matches being able to ask the experts in a class like situation, try their advice and to be provide with that on the spot guidance while you're learning.
I love my copics and hope to advance my colouring skills even more.  I think I have to work on colouring ruffles as I'm not totally happy with how these ones turned out!
Thanks for stopping by and I love to hear that you've visited, so feel free to leave a comment and some advice for colouring if you're more experienced.
Cheers,
