A Sad farewell to Delicious Doodles DT from me

Hello everyone, this is my last post for Delicious Doodles, Teri has kindly agreed to allow me to step down from the team. Life is a little too hectic for me lately and it doesn't seem to be slowing down at all so something has to give.  (currently on crutches as I tore something in my knee, pending results with Dr next week)

There are a few of us who have stepped down, but that is good news for you if you're keen to join a fabulous design team and work with Teri's amazing artwork, check out the Design Team Call.  I've loved working with these gorgeous digi's and the team are amazing bunch of girls.  I will miss them all! You will still see me using Delicious Doodles images as I love them so much.

The challenge this week is Flowers for Spring.

My card is a Thank You card, for Teri, for the Design Team and for you for dropping by my blog each challenge to leave me lovely comments.  THANK YOU All.

I've used one of Teri's latest images here, the amazing Lily and Butterfly.  It's got this gorgeous frame which I've coloured over the gray design

There is a whole new range of these lovely flower frames with different flowers, frames and butterflies.  You will LOVE them too!  Check them out for yourself over at Delicious Doodles store.

I hope you'll join our challenge and show us some Spring Flowers!

Cheers,

Delicious Doodles Challenge #22

Hi everyone, the Delicious Doodles challenge this week is to not use patterned paper.  For me that's pretty easy, I have stacks of paper and quite often, I forget to use it as I usually use inks and stamps to make my own papers or I use embossing folders for texture.

I've used Steampunk Fairy and teamed her with some Tim Holtz Weathered clock and gears dies and embossing folder, sponged a little gray ink and added some netting and a lovely metal corner and some fancy metal flowers and brads.  all done!  simple and easy.  Again, I seem to still be leaving off the sentiments.

My Steampunk Fairy has been coloured with Copic markers.

Hope to see you joining in at the Delicious Doodles challenge this week.

Cheers,

All you need is love....

Hello and welcome to my new followers, thanks a bunch for choosing to follow my blog.  Sorry I've been a bit lax in my posts lately, lots going on but I hope it all settles down soon and I'll be back to posting each week or more.

Today, I have the Delicious Doodles challenge # 20 All you need is Love for you.  I thought these Seahorses looked so cute with their tails hooked together that this said Love to me as much as any other of Teri's gorgeous images would.

Looks like I'm still in my green and purple phase, Love these colours together.  Lots of lovely techniques used here with the copic markers.

The background is quite time consuming and done in several layers, firstly lots of dots and dabs with blues and blue greens scattered all over, I made it darker at the base fading up to lighter to give some depth to the card.  Then I just did lots of splodges of 0 on the dots, the card got quite wet as I had just juiced up the marker before I started.  Then I let that dry and started all over again with more dabbing of colour then splodges of 0.  The idea was to soften the edges of the dabs and dots to blend them out a little and fade the edges.  If you click on the picture you'll see a larger image.

The seahorses were coloured using Alyce from Kit and Clowder's Mermaid tail tutorial from Youtube.  I'm really happy how it translated to the seahorses and I think I will be trying this on a dragon image soon!  Teri has some amazing Dragons in her shop.

I've used the following copic markers
Seahorses: V0000; 000;01; 04; 06; 09  BG 0000; 01; 05; 09 11; 13; 15; 18
Seaweed: YG61; 63; 67
Background:  B0000;00;02; BG0000; 00; 10; 11 and 0

Make it Crafty chipboard which has been embossed with Obsidian Teal, looks black but depending on the way the light hits it, you get teal highlights.  Inside the little circles is glue and teal glitter.
Rose and Heart charm are from Wild Orchid Crafts a the
Ribbon is Stampin' Up!
Sentiment is Lily of the Valley.
I've used a Spellbinders embossing folder on the white background and added some glitter paper for some sparkle.
EK Success punch

If you want any more details, happy for you to contact me.

Sparkle and Shine

Hello to all my blog followers and welcome to my new friends!  Thank you for choosing to follow my creative journey.  If you're just visiting, welcome, I hope you enjoy your visit.

Happy New Year!  Wow!  How fast are the years flying by?  I am amazed how quickly time flies past as I get older.  It seems that we waited forever for special things like birthdays and Christmas when were were kids.  Probably not telling you anything new here.

New beginnings for a new year, and at Delicious Doodles challenges this week we are asking you to Sparkle and Shine.

For me, I can't think of a better way than using one of my all time favourite colour combinations AND butterflies!  Butterflies represent new beginnings for me as they are transformed from a caterpillars  into a thing of beauty, stunning colours and patterns on their wings.

I've used Teri's gorgeous Butterfly image and lots of subtle glitter, as I've used my mica spray on the background and spica pens on the butterflies.  Glitter glue on the lace and of course bling.

The backing paper for the sentiment was Lindy's Stamp Gang mica sprays on watercolour paper, the colours were perfect for this project.

I've used a spellbinders embossing folder and then lightly sponged the some SU Pool Party ink on them, the little flowers are coloured in BV0000 copic marker.

Colours used on the butterflies are BG11, 13, 15 and BV0000, 01, 11, E71, 74
Turquoise, Lilac and Clear spica pens.

I hope you will join us for this week's Sparkle and Shine challenge.

Anything but a card @ Delicious Doodles this week

Hi everyone,

Are you ready for Christmas, well it's nearly here so get a move on!

I'm posting my DT inspiration project for Delicious Doodles Anything but a card.  Now I'm not big on doing 3d items, not sure why.  I do like playing around with smash books though!

This is Fern the Forest Fairy and she's gorgeous.  I loved colouring her.  I've put her in my copic smash book, this is where I put my favourite colour combos so I can have an easy reference.

Here is a close up for you.  I love her green eyes.

Come join us this week with your projects Anything but a card!

I'm so late!

Delicious Doodles challenge this week is Goth v's Pretty!  I'm so late with my post for the challenge, please accept my apologies.  I won't bore you with all the gory details of my hectic day.

I used Goth Guy from Teri's fabulous range of digi images, I decided that rather than go black with him I'd make him kinda funky and individual.  I love greens and purples together and I actually started this guy with his jacket, I usually do skin then hair when I colour but this time it was the jacket that I started with.

I've used a sketch from Sketch n Stash as I loved it the minute I saw it. I've added the tear drops covered with crystal effects and glitter and coloured a white ribbon with YG03 which was a pretty good match for the greens I'd used on the card.

Here's a closer shot of the tear drops, they are actually cut outs from the doily die!

Come and join us for Goth v's Pretty challenge at Delicious Doodles.

Dry Embossing time

Embossing would have to be one of my favourite techniques, it adds so much texture to your project and not to mention the sparkle and shine of embossing powders!

It's time to go to your dry embossing folders and techniques for this weeks Delicious Doodles challenge.   Here is my inspiration card, I've used 'Guarding the Nest' as dragons are one of my favourite mythical creatures.

Don't be fooled by her placid look, she's quite deadly especially if she's protecting her young, so don't get too close!
Here is the D&D description of a Blue Dragon!
The blue dragon is a vain and territorial juggernaut of claws, scales, and beating wings, with a powerful breath weapon of crackling lightning!
 LOL oh that brings back some memories of fun adventures and loads of laughs with friends.
I've used lots of spica pen on her scales and wings, let's face it, when you imagine a dragon, you imagine all that shimmer on their scales they appear to shift colours as the light hits them.  Oh sorry, I got a bit distracted there.

I've used Dazzling Details on the dragon eggs.  The sparkle and shine is gorgeous.  The embossing folders used here are a cuttlebug reptile skin on metallic paper as a border then a Spellbinders tree/leaves folder on the black.  I swiped a versamark inkpad across the raised parts and then dusted that with some mica powders.  So you see a sheen of blue.

Copics used here are
B0000, 02, 04, 21, 26, 29, Y26 & 28 and E40
Spica Baby Blue, Sky Blue, Gold, Silver and Clear.

I'd love to see your embossed creation over at Delicious Doodles this week!

Hope you like her and the little bit of fun in her description.

Cheers,

Poppies!

Poppies is the theme of the Delicious Doodles challenge this week and the brilliant red of poppies inspired the colours in this card.  I had to go with cream and chocolate as the coordinating tones with just a dash of purple.

You can get yourself  a copy of this fabulous image at Delicious Doodles store.  I hope you can join us, don't forget if you use a Delicious Doodles image to enter your name twice and you will be spotlighted.

Delicious Flowers

Hi everyone, I've been a bit MIA for a while now, firstly due to a very low MOJO level and secondly, I'm painting my house.  Nearly finished.  I've taken some time out to make my DT card for this week's Delicious Doodles challenge Flowers.  How easy is that?

I've used Cross and Roses and plain white with a ton of pearls and some gold thread with a hearts charm.  This image could be used for so many different occasions, I've left the sentiment off for now and will add it when Mum decides what she wants it for.

Copic markers used
Cross Y26 with Y28 outline trim this was then covered with clear spica, I also used clear spica on the black swirls.
Leaves G43 & G46, Roses R17 & R26

I'm really struggling with my photography, this was the 5th picture taken in various locations around the house inside and out.  This was in bright sunlight, a little too bright I think!

I hope you find time to join us this week for our Flowers Challenge.

Cheers,

We're testing your metal!

Hello all, welcome to a new challenge this week at Delicious Doodles.  This week we're testing your metal!  (ok bad pun)  But we do want you to use metal on your creations.

I have used Teri's Tattoos and Feathers image, my first steampunk style card, not sure this style is quite 'me' but I did have fun colouring the image and putting the card together, and truly, that is all that counts!

Metal used here is a metal charm which was copper coloured but I went over it with a metallic silver pen, then I've used metal brads and the same metallic silver on the image and one of the cogs.

Hair: W1, W3, W5, W9 Sand Spica
Feathers: YR04 & R17
Clothes:  R17, R27 & R46

I'm also celebrating 'A Mother's Love' in my card, this is one Teri's soft and pretty images, but she's got a dark side that girl!  LOL If you haven't visited her Delicious Doodles shop, you should, you'd have to see eclectic group of images to know what I mean by that.

I had to make this one a little girl, although I think I'll need to do this again with blue or lemon as the bunny rug.

Delicious Doodles an introduction...

The new members of the Delicious Doodles design team were asked to create a post on the blog about themselves as a way of introducing ourselves to the Delicious Doodles followers.

I'm Kasey, usually known as Kasey ~ in Oz online, I'm so overwhelmed and thankful for being selected to be a part of Teri's design team, followers of my blog will know I've got a few of Teri's images and have been posting them fairly often.  I live in sunny North Queensland Australia (hence the in Oz tag).

I've always had to be doing something creative, I've turned my hand to many crafts over the years such as Ceramics, Lead Lighting, Millinery, Beading, Sewing, Crochet and then I found Papercraft, specifically card making although I do dabble occasionally in scrapbooking and off the page items.  I tend to mainly use Copic Markers now and make cards and journal pages.

I hope you find inspiration in the DT cards I'll create for future Delicious Doodles challenges and that you'll play along with us.

Oh so Delicious from Delicious Doodles

How awesome is this cupcake image? Normally I'm not a cup cake girl at all, not in my craft, although I do like to eat the occasional one or three!

This cupcake by Teri at Delicious Doodles looks decadent and rich and oh so yummy, I imagine that it's rich chocolate cake and lashings of mocha cream laced with Tia Maria and topped with a ripe strawberry.  Is your mouth watering?  Mine is.  But you can certainly imagine that taste just by looking at these fabulous cupcakes.

I've created this card as my entry for the Delicious Doodles DT Call.  Their Challenges are moving to weekly with two teams so I'd only need to make 2 cards a month and with Teri's fabulous images, that's not going to be too hard and I can fit it into my schedule easily, basically this is too good an opportunity to miss out!

Colours used
Strawberry:  R27, R43, R46 & G46
Cream:  E30 & E33 plus sand spica
Cake: E13, E30, E27, E33, E39 sand spica
Wrapping: E33 and gold spica

Wish me luck!

Sultry!

Hey all, I found some time today to colour up the newest Delicious Doodles image Thorne.  She's a sultry vixen this one and I coloured her up with vivid red hair, lips and nails!

This is my take on the Summer theme for Delecious Doodles challenge, Thorne is such a sultry, hot vixen and summer here in the northern part of Australia gets sultry and hot too.

 for some reason, my camera has not reproduced the red hair as deep as it really is.  I've used R46, R27, R17, R05, R02 for her hair so I do promise you it's a lot darker than is appears in the photos, she also looks a bit washed out.  I've tried taking photos in other locations but to no avail.  Sorry this is as good as it gets!

This photo shows the double layer of flowers and the sparkle of the spica pen, Lemon, Buttermilk and Gold on the flowers and Lipstick in her hair.  There is also some Lilac spica around her eyes which are smokey with B66 and B0000 as eyeshadow.  Her Earring is done in Lipstick spica and I went over her Tattoos with Black spica.

I threaded some narrow satin ribbon in deep red through the black lace and also added some Red pearls.  The little metal butterfly is from Wild Orchid Crafts and has little dots of Red glitter on the edge of the wings.  I've used Bohemian rage papers from Kaiser craft and a rich orange bazil CS base.

I'm entering my Sultry Thorne into the following challenges

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Delicious Doodles has a very simple challenge this week to have one of something, then have two of something then three of something on your card.

I'd coloured this stunning Delicious Doodles Fairy Fae up in gorgeous purples, she has these pretty butterflies fluttering around her.  Isn't she just stunning?  Love her to bits.

 I have One silver charm

 Two die cut embellishments, the black strip on the side and
 the black corner pieces are one square cut in half diagonally
(I hope that counts as one!)
(The other two is two types of gems. Black Pearls and Green Gems)

 Three textured papers the deep purple strip,
the gorgeous pale lilac textured paper under the image which the dots embossed lavender cardstock layered on the black base.

This final picture show more of the sparkle of the spica pens, I love using these on my images they add such a beautiful sparkle.

Copics used for Fairy Fae are

Hair: V04, V06 & V09  Lavender and Clear spica pens
Skin: E50, E51, E53 & R20
Wings:  BV0000, BV00, BV02 Clear spica pen
Butterflies: E70, E74, B00, B02, B04, BG000, BG15 & G0 Turquoise, Pink and clear spica pens

Loved colouring this little beauty.  Hope you like her.

Just Delicious!

I was Spotlighted! for Challenge #21 at Delicious Doodles this week!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey there, I have picked up some more of Teri's designs from Delicious Doodles.  She is an amazing artist and I liked this In the Harbour image as it works so well for masculine cards.  That's just what the challenge is at Delicious Doodles Challenges this week!
Yes, that's right there are real shells here, gonna have to hand deliver this one!
Here's a closer peek at the shells and the image.  There is a glossy finish on the windows on the little cabin and the top edge and front strip of each boat (no idea what the technical name is) The sand has a fine coating of sand spica and it has a beautiful sparkle just like real sand.
Hope you take the time to go and check out Teri's amazing art work, she has some gorgeous images and some that lean a little towards the dark side!
