Time for crafting...Yay!

Update:  The lovley ladies at Unscripted Sketches have selected this card amongst their top 3.

***********************************************

I trust you have all recovered from the round of festivities that comes hand in hand with the Christmas Season and are all gearing up to celebrate the end of 2011 and welcome in 2012.  I thought this sentiment from SU Word Play set to be so apt for a new year.

I've had some time to clean up the chaos on my desk, oh ok, partially clean up my desk and then create more mess by making some cards!  LOL, I'm sure you can all relate to that.

This card has been made for Unscripted Sketches # 138, I love their sketches and usually I pretty much stick to the original sketch.

I've taken my colours from The Paper Players colour challenge # 76 to use Cherry Cobbler, Gold and Vanilla.  I think that More Mustard counts as a gold even though I did use gold embossing for the butterflies.

I've also 'fussy cut' the elegant butterflies so I can enter this card into the challenge #89 over at the City Crafters Challenge blog.

I love reading your comments so thank you for leaving them when you stop by.
Cheers,

Navy, Cherry and White

Gosh, 4th post for the day!  I've been on a roll creating, I have stopped to do things like bring the washing in, have lunch, flick through a craft magazine, tidy my desk etc but the colour throwdown challenge this week was for Navy, White and one other colour.  Cherry Cobbler kept popping into my head so I just had to try it out.  I've used the sketch from Paper Players and here it is!

I've created the stamped panel using the So Swirly wheel and then sponging some Night of Navy and Cherry Cobbler ink onto the pattern.  Then I've used the eyelet border punch to do the two strips for the scrunched up ribbon and bow.

Drats, collection closed!  I left it too late for this one, I should have done it a few days ago when the idea first struck.

Clean and Simple Mother's Day card

Hi there followers and blog surfers.  It's getting close to that time when we honour our Mother's and all the hard selfless work they put into raising us, picking up after us, cooking and cleaning, running us around to all the out of school activities, healing our hurts with a band aid and a kiss and as we grow into our adulthood they are there as our friends and a shoulder to lean on with a word of sage advice.

So here's to celebrating Mothers!

I've used Very Vanilla, Concord Crush and Metallic Gold for this card.  Baroque Motifs and Well Scripted stamps and the Finial Press embossing folder. Scallop Trim border punch and treaded some Vanilla satin ribbon through the loops and added just a few rhinestones for a bit of bling!
