We Wish you a Merry Christmas!

How cute are these carol singers from the Paper Shelter?  This card is one that I gave to my Mum for her to give to my aunt.

Here is a closer view of the image, I put all the Copic markers away then realised that I hadn't written down the colours used!

Don't you just love the Memory Box die, I added heaps of bling to really make it sparkle, it's been sprayed with a mica spray as well and has a lovely shimmer that the camera just doesn't pick up.

My lovely carol singers are being entered into the following challenges.

Anything Goes  - Traditional Colours  (red and white)
Wags n Whiskers - Anything Goes
The Paper Shelter - Anything Goes

Merry Christmas!

Beautiful Butterflies

Hello there everyone!  welcome to those of you new to following my blog.  Thank you for that lovely compliment.

On to my make for today, I printed this digi off twice then cut the three butterflies out and layered them to add some dimension.

I added a Cheery Lynne die and a LOTV sentiment.  The dots are embossed using a cuttlebug embossing folder, I love that you can extend the dots out to cover a square card as it's a repeating pattern.  Lots of spica pen to make this sparkle too.

My followers know that I am on a few design teams and one of them is Delicious Doodles where the main image above comes from, one of the others is Mad for Markers, an online store in Australia, well I have some exciting news for all you Copic lovers....Sammi (boss lady at M4M) is having a Copic Marker sale!  for the entire month of September.  Need markers?  check it out!
Don't forget to check out the Mad for Markers challenge this month, it's to use your copic marker Gs and YGs.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges.

No matter which challenges - Die cuts or punches (I used a die cut)

Make it Monday - Anything Goes

Thank you for dropping by and if you've taken the time to leave me a comment, I usually reply to them within a day or two to say thanks.

Creating for fun

Hello there, welcome to all my new followers and those of you who stick around!  I printed out a Delicious Doodles image 'Butterfly Bliss' this morning and decided I was going to just ink this one up for me, no design team requirements in mind, just the sheer joy of creating with whatever flowed and this is what I came up with.

I've been still playing around with the Starburst sprays and used some for one of the backing papers and the nesti dies.  It is watercolour paper which had been sprayed with three colours of Starburst spray.  Tibetan Poppy Teal, Batchelor Button Blue and French Lilac Violet.  Love the mix that happens when these colours overlap.  The shimmer is beautiful too.  The Wild Orchid Crafts rose has been sprayed with the blue and violet sprays and just looks amazing IRL.

The butterflies were coloured twice and then cut and layered onto the main image with foam dots. and I found a huge blue crystal for the flower centre.

Colours used.
Skin:  E000, E01, E1, R20
Eyes:  B0000, 00, 02
Hair: R000, E21, E25, E29
Dress: B24, B26
Flower & Earrings:  YR15, R17
Butterflies:  100, B0000, B00, B02, B04, B26 Baby Blue spica and Clear spica

I'm entering Butterfly Bliss into the following challenges.

Wags 'n Whiskers - Use your favourite colour combination. Blue/Teal/Purple

That's it from me for today.

Hope you get time today to do something you enjoy!

For Mother...

Where do I start with this card?  This has been a project and a half!  Grab a cuppa, you're in for a long read....LOL

I decided to use my Tim Holtz distress inks to make some background papers.
If you don't really want to know how this card was made, feel free to jump to the end, I'd love to read your comments, so please stop to say hi.

Paper number 1 was created by using SU Confetti White, Distress ink pads and plastic wrap, I used Victorian Velvet, Tattered Rose and a little bit of Aged Mahogany then I spritzed it with water.  When it was dry, I added just a little more Victorian Velvet to the mix.  Once it was completely dry I used a flower outline stamp from SU Greenhouse garden and stamped it randomly with Victorian Velvet.  I then spritzed it all with Champagne Mist shimmer paint to add some luscious sparkle.  Edges are sponged with Aged Mahogany

Paper number 2 was created by using the blending tool to rub inks into the Confetti White, this time I used Victorian Velvet, Tattered Rose and Tea Dye.  Spritzed with water and once dry I stamped French Script by Darkroom Door in Victorian Velvet.  I layered these papers onto SU Bravo Burgundy

I decided I'd try to watercolour with the distress inks (my very first attempt) Note to self:  Wait for the layers to dry before you go adding the background blue!  I made the green bleed into it in places and thought I'd just make it worse if I played around too much.

I've used my new Zinnia stamp from Flourishes.  I won this set in a recent blog hop for Copic Oz as they are the new distributor for Flourishes stamps in Australia.

I cut the image out with a Labels 4 Nestie and then cut two more the same size from the burgundy card.  Each of these were disected in 4 at various ponts to allow me to create the narrow frame as I'd used the largest one on the image so I couldn't cut another larger one as a mat.  I did the same with the sentiment.

I've used a couple of Cheery Lynne flourish dies to decorate, as the image is a flower it didn't seem right adding paper flowers to the card.  I've finished it off with some rose pink rhinestones.

I'm really happy with my first attempt at watercolouring with distress inks, I may need a bit more practice and perhaps a few more online tutorials before I will try to graduate to people images!

Thanks for stopping by and sticking with this long post.

This card is being entered into the following challenges.

Sweet Flying Tilda

I was touring around the blog-o-sphere and came across the Copic Marker Europe site.  Oh MY!  talk about some amazing work posted there, I took an extended tour of the blog and looked into some of the tutorials there as well. A M A Z I N G stuff.

I was particularly taken with the tutorial about Sepia colouring so decided to try it on my little Flying Tilda. It's been ages since I've posted a Tilda card.  I also did the little dots background that I've seen being used lately, both new techniques that I'm pretty happy with.

I used the Sketch from Sketch Saturdays and colours from CR84FN and am so happy with the combination that this has created.

Copics used.

Hair, dress, wings and shoes:  E40. E42, E43, E44 Sand spica
Skin: E50, E51, E53 & E93  BV000 for shadows (still perfecting this technique!)
Background:  R81, R83 & R84, blossom spica

Entering this little cutie into the following challenges.

Sketch Saturdays - Sketch
CR84FN - Colours - Medium Pink, Tan and Cream
Wags n' Whiskers Stamps - Anything Goes
Make it Monday - Linky Party
Copic Oz - Flowers

Hope you have a great day.

The skirt here is covered with sparkle, you can see slight sparkles on the top photo.  the shimmer is fabulous IRL (in real life)

One of the great things about being on a design team is the opportunity to visit all these amazing blogs out there, in the process of leaving comments I get to see amazing artwork and discover other challenges that I didn't know about before.

So this card is being entered into the following challenges...

Pink Elephant ~ Flowers
Wags N Whiskers ~ Say it with Flowers
