Soft and pretty Tilda

Hello Blends (blog friends), I hope your weekend has been fabulous.  Here in Oz we've had a long weekend for the Queen's Birthday.  I've spent some lovely time crafting away.

A while ago, I won three beautiful Magnolia stamps from Yani and this is one of them.  This little Tilda is so super cute.  I've made great use of some of my lovely Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and created this spray using lots of different flowers.  I really love the way it turned out.

I also picked up some beautiful metal embellishments when I got my flowers, I've added one here.  Once again, I haven't added a sentiment to my card, as I'm not sure what I want to use this one for yet.

Very few copics used here as I kept the colours soft and pretty and I'm so sorry but I didn't capture all the colours I'd used.

This card is being entered into the following challenges...

Wild Orchid Crafts - Anything Goes
Magnolia-Licious Challenge - Inspiration photo
Make it Monday - Linky Party

Thanks for stopping in to see my little Tilda.

Cheers,

Sweet Flying Tilda

I was touring around the blog-o-sphere and came across the Copic Marker Europe site.  Oh MY!  talk about some amazing work posted there, I took an extended tour of the blog and looked into some of the tutorials there as well. A M A Z I N G stuff.

I was particularly taken with the tutorial about Sepia colouring so decided to try it on my little Flying Tilda. It's been ages since I've posted a Tilda card.  I also did the little dots background that I've seen being used lately, both new techniques that I'm pretty happy with.

I used the Sketch from Sketch Saturdays and colours from CR84FN and am so happy with the combination that this has created.

Copics used.

Hair, dress, wings and shoes:  E40. E42, E43, E44 Sand spica
Skin: E50, E51, E53 & E93  BV000 for shadows (still perfecting this technique!)
Background:  R81, R83 & R84, blossom spica

Entering this little cutie into the following challenges.

Sketch Saturdays - Sketch
CR84FN - Colours - Medium Pink, Tan and Cream
Wags n' Whiskers Stamps - Anything Goes
Make it Monday - Linky Party
Copic Oz - Flowers

Hope you have a great day.

Cheers,

Miss Three

I can safely post this card as Miss Three whose birthday it is on Wednesday, doesn't yet have internet access, I expect she will master that one when she turns 5!

This card has been made for my little cherub who just loves pink with purple her next favourite colour, can't half tell she's related to me!

I've used spica pens all over this card, the confetti, the present and hat, the dress and shoes and the sand has specs of gold and the rocks have sand speckled all over them, looks fabulous under a light but unfortunately, it wasn't picked up in this shot.

I'm entering this in the Mad For Markers challenge as it was to use spica pens on your project.  I've used so much that I think it might qualify!

I'll throw it into the Make it Monday linky party as well just for fun.

Tagged Tilda!

I've made this tag to enter into the Mad for Markers challenge.

Really happy with the way this has turned out, not my normal colours either, I am not a yellow or orange girl but this is more of a peach or apricot so I can live with it!  Since the skin and hair colouring class, I've been playing around with combinations and I really like the E50; 51 & 53 for blonde hair.  Here I've actually used the same colours for her skin too!

Butterfly Tilda

The lovlies over at Mad for Markers chose this card as the winner of their colured embellishments challenge.  I've won some rhinestones.....I'm stoked!
*************************************************

Another attempt at colouring, this time I've also coloured some embellishments in keeping with the challenge over at Make it Monday.

I really like the spica pen, it provides such an elegant twinkle in the highlights which I've put in her hair.  This photo shows that up fairly well.

Next colouring course is to learn how to colour hair and skin, I'm still not all that happy with how the skin turns out for me so I'm really looking forward to that class.

The colours used here are as follows
Hair:  E31, E35, YR20
Skin:  E50, E51, E53
Clothes:  R81, R83, R85, butterfly BV17 and spica pen lace trim E40
Shoes: C3, C5, E04, R83, R85
Dark Ribbon: R85,
3 Darkest flowers: R85
Diamonte buckle: R85
Paper Doily: R81

Edwin all grey

Hello everyone, I've had another attempt at using copic markers to make a card, I'm actually booked in to do a class on Sunday so I'm hoping to learn, in the mean time it's  watching tutorials and playing around self teaching.

I have to say, I do get rather intimidated by the amazing creations I see on some European sites!  Some cards I feel are a tad overdone as in too much embellishment or too many patterened papers which take away from the focal point of the card.  Mind you, that is only my opinion for what it's worth, but it also sort of explains why I only use the markers now and then.  Maybe I just need a confidence boost!

I got this little fellow in a parcel earlier this week.  Edwin from the Magnolia butterfly series.

If you're familiar with copic cololuring please feel free to pass on your advice, I'm open to suggestions and comments which point me in the right direction.

Katie's Birthday Card

My friends grand daughter is turning 4 and my grand daughter is off to the birthday party, she couldn't turn up without a card made by Nana!

This is my attempt to emulate the style I see on a lot of European cards using the Magnolia stamps....I think it needs some work as to me this looks a bit too busy.....maybe I should just stick to my usual stuff, but then again, you have to try new things now and then. I'm hoping that a 4 year old will just see the fairy, flowers and sparkles and it will be wonderful for her!

If anyone out there is used to this style of making cards, please feel free to leave some constructive critisim of this one, I'm open to suggestions on how to improve.

Princess Tilda

Copic colouring is new to me and I haven't had much inspiration lately, however the sketch over at Friday Sketches inspired this creation.

I've used Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant with the Presto speciality papers from SU! for the first two background layers then the smaller circle was done with En Francios background stamp clear embossed on white. I've sponged perfect plum over it for the writing to stand out.

I promise the next tilda will not be wearing a green dress! The only soft trio of colours that I have is green....the pinks I have are way too 'in your face' bright for a dress. I think some copic colouring classes are in order, I can find tutorials online to show me how to colour hair and skin, but to get the soft faded look on her dress...mine still seem to come out quite dark..so I'm either not using the right colours or technique! If you have tips then I'd love to hear them.
