Friday Mashup #36

Hello all and welcome to a new Friday and another fabulous Friday Mashup challenge!

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project featuring "Snowmen".
  2. Or Make a project using the colors "Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze & Basic Grey".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Snowman project with the colors Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze & Basic Grey".
*With all of our Challenges that have a Stampin' Up! Color Combo, you may substitute any colors with similar ones you have on hand.

I don't actually own any snowmen stamps and due to the extreme heat up this way at this time of year, snowmen are the last things on my mind!  I've not mashed it up again this week.  How slack!  LOL.  I did make a card using the colours though and went with the Strength and Hope stamp set and even put a Breast Cancer ribbon on the card as this set was used to raise funds for Breast Cancer research, with SU donating dollars from each and every set sold at the time.

Head on over to the Friday Mashup Challenge Blog and check out the snowmen that the DT have come up with.  Send me some snow girls, it's too darn hot here!   LOL

This week at the Friday Mashup Kim brings us a great challenge in the form of a Gatefold card with the Mashup option of using numbers. So here's all you need to do...

  1. Create a card that uses a "Gatefold" .
  2. Create a card that uses "Numbers". (stamped, die cut, chip board etc)
  3. or "Mash it Up!" and create a "Gatefold Card using Numbers"!
I chose to only do the Gatefold card and started playing around wtih a few stamp sets and some embossing powder and sponges and ink and well, here's the result.

The colours I've used here are So Saffron, Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White.  I really like the soft yellow mixed with the purples.  Here's the inside of the gate card.  The front panels continue on and then there is a centre panel for that special hand written message.

The ribbon wraps all the way around the card and ties in a bow at the front to keep the card closed.  Hope you are inspired by my card and the ones created by the rest of the Design Team over at the Friday Mashup.

Unscripted Vintage

Thank you to the  DT @ Unsctipted Sketches for selecting my creation amonst the top 3!  in this challenge.  Doing a little happy dance!

Hello blog friends, I've put together an entry for the Unscripted Sketches challenge # 121 as I found it to be quite interesting.

I've used 6 punches to put the label together, it just sort of grew and grew as I was playing....LOL

I've also been playing around lately with some collage of images, some embossed and others just stamped, Here's what I ended up with for this challenge,  I've used the colours from a challenge at the Colour Throwdown....but in my usual style.....I've missed the deadline...LOL

This is supposed to be Perfect Plum, but somehow my camera doesn't think so.  I've also used Crumb Cake and So Saffron.

Unscripted Sketches ~ Sketch Challenge # 121

24 June 2011

My turn again! Here's a sketch and colour combo for you.

Hello Mashup followers and newbies alike, welcome to a new Friday Mashup Challenge.  Gosh it seems like my turn has rolled around again so quickly, I have to say this is such fun, thinking up challenge ideas and providing inspiration cards along with the other Design Team members.

This time I decided to go with a sketch and a rich colour combo to challenge your creativity.  I love all those regal tones and they were the first colour family I collected.
Here's how it works...

This week for the Mashup Challenge, you are welcome to:
     1. Create a project using the Colors "More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler & Vanilla".
   2. Create a project using the above Sketch.
   3. Or "Mash it Up!" and create a project using the Sketch & Color Combo.

For my inspiration card, I've chosen to mash it up but also went square with the sketch.  I dragged out my woven paper background for this as well, I love the effect it gives and I haven't used it for a while.  I've stamped up a number of different images onto very vanilla, more mustard and cherry cobbler card then cut them into strips and wove them into a backing mat.  I've used Strength and Hope for the main images which have been rock n rolled in More Mustard and Cherry Cobbler then coated with a light spray of Gold shimmer.

Did you know Stampin' Up! is donating $2 from the sale of each and every Strength and Hope stamp set?  How amazing is that, the set is gorgeous so you get a beautiful set of stamps and assist our Australian and New Zealand scientists to find a cure for breast cancer.  This set is available from the current Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue.

I Can't wait to see all the fabulous entries using this sketch and/or colour combo.  Check out the inspiration from the DT plus our Fabulous Guest Designer!  Enjoy and have fun creating.

PS Thank God that I made this card early and scheduled the post.  The dreaded flu is back with a vengence and I'm laid low with it, fever, headache, aches and pains and sniffles...OH and a burning throat.  I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy....(not sure who that is, but I dont' wish it on them!)  Hope you all stay healthy and happy.

Cheers,

Friday Mashup goes all girly

Ohhh I have to say a huge thank you to Holly for going all girly on us this week!  Love this challenge.

Isn't this picture just adoreable?  I've gone for bling rather than pearls on my inspiration set but I hope I'm forgiven

I think I've covered off the girly bit really well using three different pinks!  Then mashing it up there is ribbon AND Butterflies AND Bling!
This is a case of a card I created for Mother's Day and the ribbon is holding the card closed, it only opens up under the scallop circle.  Stamp-a-ma-jig is a must for lining up the scroll which has been masked to produce this layered effect.

Then I made a matching little box and gift cards which I'm so happy with.

I hope this provides some inspiration for you.  Don't foget to leave some love on the DT girls blogs, they take time out of their schedules to comment on the entries...it's only fair they get some love back!

Mother's Day Card

I'm so very pleased that this idea turned out the way it did.  It took a bit of guesswork and measuring but turned out just sensational.

This is my first time using the Strength and Hope set, it's fabulous and what is even better is that Stampin' Up! is donating $2 from the sale of each and every set to Breast Cancer research, so what better set to use for a Mother's Day card than this.  The words in the background also aptly describe Mother's.

Here is the card closed, I used a narrow vanilla ribbon for that.  The colours are Rose Red, Perfect Plum and Very Vanilla, a combo I came up with a week or so ago and I've been waiting for the right card to come along to use them.

And whent he card is open there is room for your message on the under side of the scalloped circle front.
