Have you got an iCan?

I was recently listening to a series of CDs to improve your self esteem.  The Fabulous Linda Larsen has you create a little project using a can then to put an I on it with the message Success comes in cans.  This is to remind you that you CAN do things, you CAN change your thoughts from negative to positive.  etc.  Anyone who has done any self improvement courses will be able to relate to this.  I believe in the power of positive thinking!

I decided that with the technology age and iPhones, iPads, iPods etc, this I needed to be an iCan!

I picked up this little metal and plastic clear mini paint tin at a Overflow and decorated it to place on my desk as a reminder that I CAN!  The flowers have been coloured with V91 copic, it is a lovely match for SU's Perfect Plum.  I also coloured the white grosgrain ribbon.

Now if this inspires you to make you own reminder that you CAN.  Have fun!  I'd love you to leave a comment and tell me about your own inspirational messages you have around you.

I'm entering this into the challenge at

4CCC is all soft and feminine

This week at the 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge, the challenge is to go girly, so whether you choose to go soft and feminine with lace and pearls or go for bright and cheery pinks and purples, it's time to get girly.

I have coloured up Whispy a Saturated Canary digi image using my Copic markers.  She is so cute and I was just so happy with the way she turned out.  I hope you like her, I know I do!

I'm adding this card to Make it Monday challenge where anything goes.
A new challenge site for me, Crafty Purple Frog Challenge, they are all pink and girly this week for their challenge.  (I hope peachy pink works!)

Totally Stampalicious are asking for bouquets of flowers.

Thanks for stopping by, please come back again!

Oh My!

And Oh My again!  I am the featured entry on Make it Monday with this card!  How insane is that?  I'm stoked.  While this is a random selection, it's still pretty awesome!

another Oh My!  Totally Stampalicious has selected this creation as the winner of the Keep it Clean and Simple!  WOW.  I really liked the way this card turned out and it is such a buzz to see that others love her too!  Thanks for the honour.

Hello blog friends, I came across the blog of a sensational artist today, Krista Smith @ Saturated Canary and I was just amazed by her drawings.  Her Digi stamps are so cute.  I Love them.  Krista has an Esty shop and has generously shared one of her digis as a valentine gift and here is what I did with her.

I don't know if this little one has a name, as it wasn't on Krista's blog.  She's adoreable and very different to the other stamps and images I've seen out there.

I've used lots of orange and red again in this one, I seem to be gravitating towards them at the moment when I pick up my copics.  Still I'm pretty hapy with this.  I also scored a lovely pad of papers when I got the Australian Simply Cards magazine so I used them here on this card.  Along with some shiny cord that I've had in my stash for a couple of years but not ever used.  I made a sailors knot and then used glue dots to adhere it to the card as I didn't want to add flowers to this one.

I like the cleaner less cluttered look of this card, not sure if it qualifies as Clean and Simple, but I'm gonna take a chance and add her to the Totally Stampalicious challenge

I'm also entering this little sweetie in Make it Monday

Thanks for stopping by,

Cheers,

Final Valentine

This is the last valentine style card for 2011! Fitting three challenges in here.

The colour challenge was to combine Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Whisper White and Real Red. A challenge indeed, I stamped the French Filigree background stamp in Real Red on Crumb Cake CS, it comes out a bit darker that way. I also sponged the edges.

Cherry Cobbler hearts spritzed with Champagne Mist shimmer paint for lots of glimmer. Main hearts are Bella Toile background stamp in Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White. All this on a Very Vanilla card base with a strip of embossed Very Vanilla across the card, Add some rhinestones for bling and it's done!

Hearts, Hearts and more Hearts.

Seems to also be a pink day today, this is my second challenge card using Pinks.
I really liked this sketch and when I was looking at the Just Add Ink challenge colours, this sketch just seemed to pop off the page and said 'pick me!
'

Sorry I seem to be pretty bad at taking photos today, this is just off centre enough to be annoying and it's the third attempt so it will have to do....I must be off kilter today!

All of the cardstock has been spritzed with Champagne Mist shimmer paint, it stands out in the photo despite it being off centre.

Best Yet!

OH My! I'm so thrilled with this card, I've had this idea floating around in my head about embossing the leaves from the two step bird punch and this weeks Mojo Monday sketch inspired me to attempt it on this card.

I've been on quite creative a roll lately and have the luxury of time to spend in the craft room. In particular with cyclone Yasi heading this way apart from doing the preparations, there isn't much else to do and all that nervous energy needs an outlet right?

Another Masculine effort

Another challenge that I found was titled Clear as Mud, which was for combining brown with any other colour. I've taken a little bit creative liberty here and used two browns.

I was heading down the road of pretty, until I started to sponge the Presto paper (white check) it didn't sponge as nicely as the other patterns so I used Early Expresso, Soft Suede and Sahara Sand inks to give it a mottled appearance then I got out the Grunge Rock stamp set and Extreme Elements and stamped a few images over the sponging, layering images roughly.

I think this grungy look contrasted beautifully with the shimmery soft suede scalloped mat and then I went looking for a sentiment.....I was going to break the rules and go for gold embossing powder but at the last minute decided on white, with a really messy look. Then I scrunched and tore the card to get this look and off set the matting behind it. It's not my normal style but I had fun trying it out.

Totally Stampalicious - Masculine

Masculine

The theme of Masculine is not that much of a stretch, because while I tend to have a romantic feminine style I do quite like to do textures and monochrome on my cards. I am combining three challenges for this card.

The black card has been spritzed with Champagne Mist Shimmer paint which gives a rich sparkle without being to prissy for a 'boy person' card. Then I've layered textures added a bit of paper piercing and a double ribbon, taffeta over grosgrain to make it wide enough for the little buckle to fit, this also highlighted the white edges on the taffeta ribbon.
