This JAI colour challenge this week was indeed a challenge for me, I was ok with the So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz and Elegant Eggplant, but throwing Riding Hood Red in there too? I mean that was a struggle to come up with a good combination, so I pretty much ignored the Red until I'd put most of the card together!
Decided to do a Valentine card and here is my entry.
I did lots of dry embossing here, with Perfect Polkadots, then Elegant Lines on so saffron, I went with the Square Lattice on Pear Pizzazz then when using the Scalloped Heart of Hearts embosslit it all came together.
The Heart punch works out beautifully cutting out the embossed heart and allows layering so you can have a scalloped border for the heart. I also used the Heart to Heart punch to punch out hearts from the embosslit hearts so they were embossed too! I've used the sentiment from Artistic Etchings and figure that it's not to feminine so it could be used for a guy....now all I have to do is find someone to give it to!!!
Great card Kasey, love the embossing
ReplyDeleteThis is great - really like all the embossed card - so much texture!
ReplyDeleteThe texture looks great. I struggled with the red as well and only used a teeny tiny bit!
ReplyDeleteTurned out Great Kasey . I think the Red is the focus point of your card.looks fab
ReplyDeleteAll that texture and layering is very effective - a lovely card.
ReplyDeleteI think leaving Riding Hood Red till the end worked brilliantly for you - it really pops! Thanks for playing at Just Add Ink!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything already said - it's lovely :-)
